When reading fashion magazines they all say knitted garments will be in fashion this autumn and winter. Though when going out to the shops it is almost impossible to find anything. Anyone who has found anything interesting yet in any shops??

It's still early in the season. It's Fall transition right now. I worked for a men's & women's clothing store for a number of years. Right about now the stores are going from transition to Fall 1. It will be soon when we start seeing all the fuzzy sweaters! :D

Angora and Mohair (at least in America) are going increasingly out of style. Cashmere pretty much rules the scene. You are lucky to find one or two sweaters a season that have 70% or higher angora content.

I'm not sure if it's going out of style or just at a low point of the fashion cycle. It seems that fuzzy stuff (Angora and Mohair) over the years comes and goes, its' always around, just more popular with the designers in some years than others. It seems that we fans of these fabrics are in, and have been in a bit of a "dry spell" for the past few years. :?

we have just finished our Autumn/Winter season with almost no angora...mostly tight fitting wool turtlenecks and turtleneck sweaterdresses this year (which was really great!!!), hopefully there will be a cyclic return very soon.

You really ought to go into Benetton at the corner of Regent Street and Oxford Street in London. OMG. Talk about dream world. I went in a couple of weeks ago and nearly died. There were so many things I wanted to try on.

There's a lovelly beige argyle pattern slim-fit, short, sweater dress in Esprit too - and a lovelly contrasting short poncho with a cowl/bardot neck that hangs off one shoulder.

... and Primark (not the most ethical of stores, just very cheap) has a lovelly bardot mohair sweater dress (on my fotopic site at http://sweaterdress.fotopic.net/)

Have a look in Monsoon - they have some spectacular almost angora jumpers, some quite long! Other than that not seen any really chunky knits - those that have seen are not good quality and quite thin when get up close - not nearly the quality that we can get made by the wonderful knitters we have on Ebay - like Mohairknitter, Traumschoen and lady mohair.
